Getting to Grips with Social Networks

It’s taken us a while to understand in business terms just how to use social networks, but I think like everybody else we’re getting there.  For most people, using networks like Facebook, Bebo or Myspace is a communication tool for “at home” rather than for business and there’s where we sometimes miss a trick.

You can set up a business page on Facebook and join online communities such as LinkedIn to expand your business contacts, find “fans” and follow other businesses.  In Facebook your pages can be product based or just about your business; have a look at LG Mobile’s – it’s all about their mobile phones, but they’re interacting with their customers on a daily basis and taking advantage of a really useful communication tool.  Another one worth visiting is Innocent Drinks – they’re very effectively using it to launch new products and get customer feedback.

The best thing is that these are all free!
